Once you receive your diagnosis, you are likely thinking what next?

 National guidance advises that best practice treatment for ADHD is a combination of therapeutic interventions (talking therapy) and /or medication.

An initial medication consultation or a therapeutic session will consider the next steps, considering advice from your diagnosing practitioner.

Prescribing medication for ADHD requires specialist monitoring to maintain safety. This will mean regular appointments until your medication has titrated and then 3-6 monthly thereafter.

This is necessary to monitor your care and your progress and allows us to make any adjustments that are needed.

As part of each appointment your physical observations will be checked  including blood pressure, pulse and weight. 

Children will also require to have their height monitored.

You can receive Therapeutic Intervention in conjunction with medication, and can opt for more regular appointments tailored to your situation.

Initial Medication Consultations take round 45 minutes. This includes a letter to your GP and your prescription if required. 

Review appointments are around 30 minutes and include your physical monitoring, review of progress and discuss side effects. This will also include your prescription.

On average during titration you may need 3-4 appointments and then you can be reviewed 3-6 monthly.

Therapeutic Intervention Appointment £100 (typically 1 hour) 

Repeat prescriptions £30 (These are posted on Tuesday and Thursdays by special next day delivery)
